MOUNT VERNON — William Kinsey Borden, 84, of Mount Vernon, passed away Oct. 9, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Columbus, to the late Harry and Lillian (Evans) Borden. Kinsey was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He retired in 1972 from Pittsburgh Plate Glass and also worked for 30 years in the timber business and 34 years in the antique business with his late wife, Donna.
He is survived by his children, Charlotte (Ron) Oechslin of Columbus, Brenda (Randy) Meyer of Toledo, Jerry Borden of Columbus and Steve Borden of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jeremy Borden, Vanessa Borden, Marcia (Jeff) Campanelli, Kinsey Borden, Wil Yee, all of Columbus, and Daniel Meyer of Toledo; great-grandchildren, Jade Borden, Alyssa Jones, Isaac Yee and Isabella Campanelli, all of Columbus; sister-in-law, June Baldwin of Columbus; special friends, Louise Webb and Gary Noble; and his devoted dog, Princess.
Kinsey was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Donna M. Borden, earlier this year; brother, Harry Borden Jr.; and a sister, Helen Davis.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, with Pastor Jack Christner officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Porcu, Dr. Wong, and Dr. Welliver and the staff at The James Cancer Hospital for all the excellent care given to Kinsey.
