HOWARD — James Ray Kanagy, 52, of Howard, formerly of Boone, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.
He was born in Mt. Gilead, June 3, 1960. Jim graduated from Highland High School in 1978, and received his B.S. in Business Administration from Liberty University in 1983. He was married to Karen Mustard Kanagy for 28 years.
Jim was a residential designer for over 25 years and owner of Kanagy Design. Jim received Christ as his Savior in 1979. He was a member of Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone, N.C. and attended New Life Missionary Alliance Church in Fredericktown.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Paul Kanagy.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Kanagy; his children, Katherine Mae, Boone, N.C., Khristina Marie, Kimberly Melissa, and James Gregory, all of Howard; his mother, Louella Kanagy of Chesterville; his brothers, Gene (Kristi) Kanagy of Chesterville, Art (Pat) Kanagy of Chesterville, Ken Kanagy of Edison, twin brother, Tim (Rosa) Kanagy of Macon, Miss., Larry (Tammy) Kanagy of Rochester, Ind.; his sisters, Becky (Bob) Yoder of Hydro, Okla., Bonnie (Carl) Parra of Lynchburg, Va. and Carolyn Kanagy of Chesterville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 15. Visiting hours are from 11a.m. to 1p.m. The service will begin at 1p.m. at New Life Community Church in Fredericktown.
