NASHUA, N.H. — Richard E. Porter, 61, of Nashua, N.H., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H., after a courageous five-month battle with cancer.
Rich was born in 1951, in Mount Vernon, to parents Robert and Margretta (Gaumer) Porter, both of whom preceded him in death.
Rich leaves his wife, Susan Porter of Nashua; son, Gregg Porter, and his partner Wenda Kochanowski of Chelsea, Mass.; daughter, Kim Gilbert, and her husband Jason, of Hillsboro, N.H.; daughter, Amy Porter of Portsmouth, N.H.; stepdaughter, Christine Donlan of Pepperell, Mass.; and brother, Gary Porter, sister-in-law, Mary Porter, and nephews, Jesse and Joshua Porter, of Derry, N.H.
In Mount Vernon, Rich leaves an aunt, Louella Truex; cousin, Chris (Truex) Baxter; great-aunts, Byrdella Evans and Ruth Truex.
Grandparents, Ernest and Levona Porter of Mount Vernon; and grandparents, Dale and Georgett Gaumer of Derry, N.H., also preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, Oct. 7, in Nashua, N.H.
