MOUNT VERNON — A graveside service for Larry R. Summers, 81, formerly of Utica, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Canal Fulton Cemetery, Stark County with Pastor Sharon VanWinkle officiating.
Larry, a Utica businessman, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born Dec. 1, 1930, in Coshocton to the late Virgil and Dorothy (Ross) Summers.
Larry held masters degrees from Kent State University in geography and The Ohio State University in city and regional planning and worked for the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources. Upon retiring he started an antique license plate business selling plates in the U.S. and overseas for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Lela R. (Sesser) Summers of Mount Vernon; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Jo Summers of Saginaw, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Pete Kovarik of Clintonville; many cousins; Joe Rich, longtime friend; and friends and associates across the country.
