BUCYRUS — Sandra J. VanHouten, 70, of Bucyrus passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, in Bucyrus Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Sandra was born May 12, 1942, in Mount Vernon, to the late Raymond P. Sr. and Esther Teresa (Depolo) VanHouten.
Sandra is survived by her brothers, Raymond Jr. Ronald (Vicky) of Bucyrus, Ted (Deb) of Mount Vernon; and sister, Carolyn Sue Newton of Bucyrus. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Tony (Darlene) VanHouten, Jessica and Bradly VanHouten, Jeremy (Dawn) McAdams, Jesse Davis, Rich (Alina) VanHouten, Raymond Paul Scoles; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Alex and Andi VanHouten, Jaustyn Walters, Jezic Creager, Sydney and Nathan McAdams, Holden and LadyFaye Davis; her special friends, Jerry and Crystal Stone and family, as well as many, many special friends; and her dog, Scooter.
Sandra moved from Mount Vernon to Bucyrus 20 years ago. For the past 14 years, she was a grill cook at the Crazy Fox. She enjoyed garage sales and collecting butterflies.
At Sandra’s request, there will be no formal calling hours or services. Memorials may be made through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.
