MOUNT VERNON — Lois Jane Cothren, 81, of Clarence Court, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the Knox Community Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Ashland, to the late Floyd and Pearl (Schweyer) Homerick. Lois was part owner of the Peoples Shoe Store. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and Soroptimist International of Mount Vernon.
Lois is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Richard Cothren; two daughters, Vicki (Frank) Pitts of Tucson, Ariz., Kathie (Richard) Shimoloens of Avon Lake; two sons, Michael (Loraine) Cothren of Westerville, Tim (Janelle) Cothren of Fredericktown; 12 beloved grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will be held Monday, at the funeral home, beginning at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jerry Bell officiating. Graveside committal services will be held beginning at 2 p.m. in Ashland Cemetery.
