MOUNT VERNON — Edna Marie Butt, 82, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. She was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Bloomfield (Washington County), daughter of the late Harry and Lucy (Morris) Payne.
Edna retired from Chattanooga Glass in Mount Vernon and was a member of the Church of Christ. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family.
Edna is survived by her children, Carol (David) Swain of Mount Vernon and Linda (William) Smedley of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris Swain, Courtney (Chris) Denman, Joe (Elizabeth) Carter and Nicole (Jon) Bailey; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Payne and Richard Payne of Mount Vernon; a sister, Norma Fawcett of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Leland “Red” Butt; and sister, Mary Ratliff.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
