FREDERICKTOWN — Phillip R. McGuire, 58, of Lucerne Road, Fredericktown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Sept. 13, 1954, in Columbus, to Curtis McGuire and Phoebe (Amalato) McGuire. Phil retired in March of this year after 33 years of employment as a superintendent of the heavy highway division of Kokosing Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and traveling, but most important was spending quality time with his family in their daily activities.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Hickerson) McGuire, whom he married July 4, 1987; two sons, Zachary (Jennifer Hart) McGuire and Cody McGuire, both of Fredericktown; his father; a stepson, Willie Conway, stepdaughter, Macy Conway, both of Maysville, Ky.; a grandchild, Peyton Conway; three sisters, Rita (Cesar) Hernandez of Fredericktown, Donna McGuire-Stein of Palm City, Fla., and Barbara (Joseph) Autry of Monticello, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown.
