NEWARK — A funeral service for Carl L. Garno Sr., 72, of Newark, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, with Bruce Hissong and Roger Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Carl died Nov. 6, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born November 23, 1939, in Licking County, to the late Lewis H. and Catherine M. (Green) Garno. Carl retired after 42 years of service from Rockwell (ArvinMeritor) and prior to that he truck patched. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Fredonia. Carl loved spending time with his grandchildren and his passion was being outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances L. (Ryan) Garno of Newark; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl L. “Nick” and Laurie Ann Garno Jr. of Newark, Bryan Garno and fiancee, Rebekah, of St. Louisville; daughter, Cathy Ann Klunk and Tim Bruckart of York, Pa.; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Penny Garno of Newark; very close friend, Danno Williams.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Garno; brother-in-law, Sammy Ryan.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica. Visit to extend condolences to the family.
