MOUNT VERNON – Paul E. Keeler, 85, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday evening, Nov. 7, 2012, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Takoma Park, Md., to the late John and Lucille (Dunham) Keeler. Paul had worked at the Mount Vernon Academy since 1968. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church.
Paul married the former Glenna L. Lewis on Feb. 8, 2009, and she survives in Mount Vernon. Paul is also survived by a son, Malcom Keeler of Oregon; daughters, Elberta Phillips of Harrisburg, Pa., and Robin Vanderbilt of Kettering; stepchildren, Penny Zak of Akron and Robert Lawrence of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Keeler of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Clark and Betty Keeler; and three brothers, Donald, Lawrence and Harold Keeler.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church, 535 Wooster Road, Mount Vernon. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday 10 a.m. in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Fred Shoemaker officiating.
The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is assisting the Keeler family with the funeral arrangements.
