FREDERICKTOWN — Roger A. Brake, 68, of Mount Vernon Avenue, Fredericktown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 26, 1944, in Mount Vernon, to the late James and Helen (Vail) Brake Sr. Roger was a 1962 graduate of Fredericktown High School and later attended Wilmington College. He retired in 2007 after 25 years of employment with TRW of Mount Vernon. Roger previously served as squad chief for the Fredericktown EMT and was a past member of the Fredericktown Lions Club. He was a member of The Way International. Roger loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Stout) Brake, whom he married Nov. 27, 1965; his children, Chris (Daryl) Wilden, Michael (Heather) Brake, Nathan Brake and Erin (Lukus) Cole, all of Fredericktown; 10 grandchildren, Sidney and Isaac Wilden, Kelsi, Abbi and Isaiah Brake, Devyn and Peyton Brake, Wyatt Cole, Sarah and Raini Worthington; a brother, Louis (Mary Lou) Brake of Oklahoma; and a sister, Margaret (Mike) Lybarger of Gambier.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Brake Jr.
Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Ladwig will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
