FREDERICKTOWN — Charles S. Kershner, 85, of Fredericktown, died peacefully at his home Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. Charles was born June 12, 1927, in Knox County to Lloyd and Clara (Parish) Kershner.

He attended Fredericktown High School and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had spent his lifetime in the Fredericktown area and retired from the National Seating Company in Mansfield. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown.

Surviving are his children, Jenny (Gordon) Sargent of Mount Vernon; Beverly (Tom) Cramer of Fredericktown; and William (Patricia) Kershner of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ivan F. Kershner of Fredericktown; and his best friend, Glena Livingston of Fredericktown.

Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Snyder) Kershner; brothers, John D. Kershner and Earl J. Kershner.

Friends may call Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
