HOWARD — William E. “Bill” Carpenter, 84, of Howard died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born March 14, 1928, in Columbus, son of the late George and Helen (Davis) Carpenter. After High School, Bill studied business management at Capitol and Franklin Universities. He was a Pharmaceutical Rep for over 47 years in the Western and Southern part of Ohio for Bergen Amerisource. Bill was a volunteer and founding member of the Minerva Park Emergency Squad. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed bowling in his free time. Bill will be remembered for great sense of humor. Bill is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Naomi (Bevan) Carpenter whom he married, May 14, 1982; daughter, Michelle (Steve) Bolton; stepsons, William (Ana) Compston and Tony (Brenda) Compston; grandchildren, Breighley and Blake; and stepgrandchildren, Michael Chad and Tyler Lee. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by infant twin brothers. Per Bill’s request there will not be services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 in Bill’s memory.
