HOWARD — T. Maxine Ramella, 93, of Howard, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

Maxine was born May 13, 1919, in Mount Vernon to Vince and Lena (Shaw) Ralston.

Her mother died when Maxine was a child and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Ruth Ralston. Maxine graduated from Howard High School, the Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, and had been employed as a registered nurse and East Knox School Nurse. She was a member of the Howard Church of Christ and the Rake and Hoe Garden Club.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Donnie Rogers of Howard; granddaughters, Lisa (Eric) Adams and Darcy (Brad) Knight; great- grandchildren, Dashua Knight, Bria Knight, Kalen Knight, Colton Adams and Logan Adams.

Besides her parents and stepmother, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Pershing Ramella; her brother, John Ralston; and sister, Pauline Ralston.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Mr. Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, Danville.
