GAMBIER — William C. “Peck” Lanning, 84, of Gambier, passed away Dec. 9, 2012, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.
He was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Murray City to Abraham and Chloe (Withem) Lanning.
William was a U. S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Stephen Lanning of Gambier and Daniel Lanning of Mount Vernon; a granddaughter, Erin (Michael) Cochran; two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Xander Cochran, and Kirsten Dice; and a brother, Gary Lanning.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Lanning in 2001; and two brothers, Fred and Donald Lanning.
Friends may call Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery with Military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council.
