MOUNT VERNON — John F. Fox, 83, of Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Emeritus at Hillenvale.
He was born July 30, 1929, in Logan, to James F. and Jennie (Hartmann) Fox.
John was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was an Ohio University graduate in 1952, with a major in photography. He was employed by North American Aviation in Columbus as a layout man for aircraft, then worked 23 years at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Mo.
He is survived by three sons, John M. (Patricia) Fox of Hudson, Karl W. (Pamela) Fox of Dow, Ill., and James A. (Jennifer) Fox of Alton, Ill.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, John P., Scott, Ethan, and Emilee Fox; two sisters, Bonnie A. (Robert) Dupoint of Columbus and Mary E. (Jim) Trowbridge of Mount Vernon; one brother, Steven M. Fox of Columbus.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Fox in 2000.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Owl Creek Cemetery, Ankenytown. The Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council will provide military graveside honors.
