MOUNT VERNON — Laura Barbara Gardina, mother and homemaker, went to heaven to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.
She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Church in Mount Vernon.
Laura was born in Lyndora, Pa., Dec. 9, 1927, to Angela (Tupaj) and Julian Czyzyk.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Francis; three daughters, Kathryn Ann Gardina of Westcliffe, Colo., Ann (Nancy) Laura (Joe) Aninao of Columbus, and Bernadette Marie Gardina of Columbus; son, Paul Francis Gardina of Columbus; grandson, James Francis Gardina of Columbus; and sister, Mary S. Rehm of Butler, Pa.
Laura was preceded in death by her daughter, Marian Teresa Gardina; her parents; brothers, Raymond, Theodore (Bernice); Joseph (Jean) and Leo Czyzyk; and a sister, Pearl C. Holbein.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with The Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
