CROTON — Frank M. “Butch” James , 82 of Croton, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2012, at Bennington Glen Nursing Center in Marengo.
He was born March 3, 1930, in Columbus to the late Reed and Vera (Flescher) James. He was a retired driver for Licking County Highway Department and former owner of the Croton Elevator, a member of the Croton United Methodist Church and a former Croton Volunteer Fireman.
Frank was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Frank would rather have been working or spending time with his family than doing anything else.
He is survived by daughters, Melissa James of Norwalk and Rebecca James of Sewickley, Pa.; son, Don (Teri) James of Centerburg; grandchildren, Courtney (Tony) Shaver and Cameron James.
He was preceded in death by his wife, of almost 57 years, Barbara R. (Taylor) James; Sept. 8, 2007.
Friends may call Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11a.m. in the Hartford Cemetery with his son, Don James officiating.
