NEWARK — A funeral service for Florence S. Harstine, 86, formerly of Utica, will be held at noon, Friday, at Law-Baker Funeral Home, where friends may call 10 a.m. to noon. Pastor Carol Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Plainfield Cemetery.
Florence died Dec. 18, 2012, at Kindred TCR-Newark. She was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Birds Run, to the late Starkey and Nellie (Black) Lawrence.
Florence owned and operated Danville Equipment with her husband, milked cows, raised chickens and sold eggs for many years. She was a clerk at Hufford’s Ben Franklin and Utica Hardware. Florence was a member of Morgan Grange and Farm Bureau Council.
She is survived by her sons, Richard R. Harstine and Dennis E. Harstine, both of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Chris Norton of Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Raymond Harstine, who passed away June 28, 2009; daughter, Linda Rasor; three grandsons, Scott and Todd Rasor and Christopher Harstine; sister, Mary Olden; and three infant brothers.
