UTICA — A funeral service for Terry R. Ramsey, 55, of Utica, will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at Utica Presbyterian Church, 9 S. Main St., with Pastor Terry Holobaugh and Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home.
Terry died Dec. 19, 2012, at Selma Markowitz Care Center, Newark. He was born Aug. 23, 1957, in Mount Vernon to Gene P. and Wanda J. (Moran) Ramsey. Terry was a 1975 Utica High School graduate and served four years in the Air Force. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and loved football and basketball. Terry previously worked for Velvet Ice Cream and was a self-employed wholesale distributor for Jones & Snyder Potato Chips. He coached biddy football for 18 years, was a 4-H advisor and a member of Utica American Legion Post 92.
He is survived by wife of 28 years, Karen S. (Coss) Ramsey of Utica, whom he married May 4, 1984; son, Timothy William Ramsey of Newark; daughters and son-in-law, Crystal Dawn and Adam Price of Sagamore Hills, Tasha Rae Ramsey of the home; mother and stepfather, Wanda and Joe Pinell of Port Arthur, Texas; grandson, Dallas Ramsey of Heath; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Sue Ramsey of Fairborn; father-in-law, Walter Coss of Utica; aunt, Sharon (Ron) Burson of Mount Vernon; uncle, William (Sally) Moran of Mount Vernon; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Paul Ramsey Sr.; and mother-in-law, Wilma Coss.
