UTICA — A graveside service for Fred L. Etler, 76, of Utica, will be held at a later date in Southlawn Cemetery, Utica, with the Rev. Jim Boubary officiating.
Mr. Etler passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born May 4, 1936, in Independence, Ky., to the late John and Marge (Traylor) Etler. Mr. Etler was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 92 in Utica and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley D. (Tully) Etler, whom he married Dec. 17, 1955; three daughters, Sandy S. Etler, Jeannie D. (David) Ryan and Sherrie L. (Gary) Wheeler, all of Utica; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny L. Etler, in 2006.
The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
