HOWARD — Gary A. Kehrig, 76, of Howard (Apple Valley), passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
He was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Cleveland, to the late Anton and Margaret (Fischer) Kehrig.
Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1965 in the Engineering Battalion as a quarryman. He was a 1955 graduate of Brecksville High School and later earned his Associates Degree in Professional Management from John Carroll University.
Gary worked 22 years for ACME Cleveland Corp. where he started as a computer programmer and system analyst. He eventually became manager of the corporation’s computer department. Gary retired from Wayne-Dalton where he managed their data and information systems. He was certified in production and inventory management from (APICS) American Production and Inventory Control Society. Gary was a member of the Sub-Alpine Hiking Club in Knox County, served as a zoning inspector for Howard Township and was a former member of the Lions Club of Mount Vernon.
He is survived by two daughters, Alicia (Dave Godo) Kehrig of Worthington, and Laverne Laureen McNamara of Cleveland; and a sister, Marjorie Tavzel of Brecksville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leah Larks Kehrig.
The family will observe a private service at a later date.
