MOUNT VERNON — Sandy L. Moss, 76, of Mount Vernon passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 5, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Columbus, daughter of the late Willis E. and Evelyn L. (Aiken) Dickerson.

Sandy graduated from Columbus North High School in 1954 and on Nov. 3, 1956, she married Robert B. Moss. She was a homemaker and a very accomplished seamstress. She made her husband’s work shirts, her daughters’ wedding dresses and a whole host of other items. She also enjoyed painting and quilting. Sandy was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and the Red Hat Society.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of over 56 years, Robert B. Moss; her children, Karen (Jim) Lee of Johnstown, Tina (Mark) Carothers of Mount Vernon, and Robert “Bobby” Moss of Howard; grandchildren, Benjamin “J.N.” and Nathan “R.W.” Lee, Emily M. and Molly C. Davis, and Robert and Kyle Moss; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Louise Lee.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, Donn Dickerson.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 307 S. Market St., Danville, with the Rev. Father Victor R. Wesolowski as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Luke Catholic Cemetery near Danville.

A vigil service will be held at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
