MOUNT VERNON — Robert C. Veatch, 75, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday evening, Dec. 18, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital from injuries he received in a fall on Dec. 5, 2012.

He was born March 11, 1937, in Knox County, son of the late Russell H. and Lena (Bebout) Veatch.

Robert worked in the Ink Room at the former Continental Can Co. in Mount Vernon and helped Jim Gray in his concrete business. He served over 20 years in the Ohio National Guard and was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge 2555 in Mount Vernon.

Robert is survived by his sister, Jean Cline of Howard; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by infant twin brothers, Ray and Clay; and a sister, Marjorie.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5 to 6 p.m, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.
