MOUNT VERNON — Earl “Gene” Hartman, 64, of Mount Vernon, passed away at his residence Jan. 7, 2013.
He was born Feb. 23, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Earl F. and Dorothy (Marlow) Hartman.
Gene was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Gene is survived by two sons, Stephen (Maegan) Hartman and Michael (Honey) Hartman; the mother of his sons, Ann P. Hartman; sister, Mary Disbennett; granddaughter, April “Annie” Hartman; three stepgrandchildren, Alexis and Darian Ansel, Jodie Tesnow; a stepgreat-grandson, Brantly Isaacs; two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Foster; and a nephew, Gary Disbennett.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at noon in Mound View Cemetery, with the Rev. Ryland Presley and the Rev. David Johnson officating.
Military honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
