HOWARD — Lee Ann Maxine Pyers, 81, of East Street, Howard, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Howard, to the late George and Margery (Thatcher) Taylor.

She was employed and retired from Cooper-Bessemer. Lee Ann was a member of the Killbuck VFW. She was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1950-53. Lee Ann loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey (Tina Hecht) Baker of Gambier, James Baker of Howard; five grandchildren, Heather Davidson, Brock Baker, Holly Crider, Dylan Baker, Brian Baker; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Edna Henwood of Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents, Lee Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Duke Pyers; and her son, Steve Baker.

There will be no calling hours. The family will have a private graveside service in Riley Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
