CENTERBURG — Melvin F. Pruett, 66, of Centerburg, died Sunday morning, Jan. 27, 2013, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born Dec. 12, 1946, to the late Franklin P. Pruett and Leora L. (Barber) Pruett Dove. He was a lifelong Centerburg area resident. Melvin could be seen walking from Rich Hill to Centerburg every day. Melvin was a big sports fan and enjoyed all of the Centerburg High School sports, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth (Robert Comstock) Dove of Centerburg, Delores Cornell of Columbus; brother, William (Joyce) Barber of Tacoma, Wash.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by stepfather, William Dove; sister, Diana Pruett; brother, Richard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p. m. at 5165 Main St., Rich Hill, OH. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
