MOUNT VERNON — Betty J. Llewellyn, 78, of Mount Vernon died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in the Palliative Care Unit at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Mount Vernon, daughter of the late Walter and Marjorie (Litt) Butler. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed the companionship of her cats. Betty had worked for the Neff’s Supermarket and Walmart in Mount Vernon.

Betty is survived by her son, Charles (Ruth) Llewellyn of Johnstown; stepson, Floyd (Erma) Llewellyn of Mount Vernon; stepdaughters, Betty Lou Shannon and Diana (Lloyd) Henthorn of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Sara Furlong of Mount Vernon and Timothy (Jennifer) Llewellyn of Mesquite, Texas; a great-grandson, Peyton Llewellyn; several stepgrand- and great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Skaggs of Mount Vernon; brother, Walter (Vera) Butler of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Llewellyn; sister, Mona Edwards; brother, Kenneth Butler; and brother-in-law, Larry Skaggs.

The family will have a private service celebrating the life of Betty.
