CENTERBURG — Susan L. Vernon, 61, of Centerburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the Heartland of Centerburg with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 4, 1951, in Columbia, S.C., to Harry and Patricia (Duguid) Van Breemen. Susan enjoyed drawing, music and planting flowers. She was a great listener and was good at helping people figure out their problems. But most of all, Susan enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Jeramie) Kirkpatrick of Fredericktown, Kimberly Conkey of Columbus; her grandchildren, Monica Mosby, Brittany Bird, Riley Bird, Brandon Conkey, Christopher Miller; her mother, Patricia Van Breemen of Mount Vernon; her brother, Daniel Van Breemen of Gladewater, Texas; her sisters, Julie Van Breemen of Mount Vernon, Diane (Ed) Kent of Warsaw, Denise (Jeff) Krauskopf of Alexandria, Debra (Frank) Wells of Mount Vernon, Linda (Scott) Tarrh of Walhonding; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her father; and her brother, David Van Breemen.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where friends may call two hours prior. Mr. Rick Lumbatis will be officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.
