DANVILLE — Robert W. Howard, 69, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on Sept. 25, 1943, to Robert W. and Lorine Mae (Brandt) Howard. He was a Master Sgt. programming technician in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1981, serving at NORAD Headquarters at Cheyenne Mountain, and at the Pentagon. He also retired from Cooper Energy Services after 20 years.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert B. (Sheila) Howard of Mansfield, Thomas E. (Kimberly) Howard of Mount Vernon, Sherrie M. (Jason) Moore of Danville and Scott (Margherita) Howard of Howard; grandchildren, Juliana, Robert J., Jacob, Hailey, Branton, Samantha, Madysen, Allysen, Hope, Storm, Macey, Alysha, Scott, Skylar, Marissa, Miranda, Noah and Seth; an aunt, Mary Brandt of Middletown, Pa.; nephews, Larry and Bo Mullis; brother-in-law, Larry Mullis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a special friend, Donna Schaffer of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Shirley Mullis.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. After cremation, a memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m., at the Danville United Methodist Church on Market Street. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
