BRADENTON, Fla. — Beverly Ann Satterfield, 77, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.
She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Charles Lee Satterfield, in November 2011.
She was the daughter of the former Reva Elizabeth Trott and Ralph Samuel Trott. As she was fond of saying, “I worked since I was 13,” having started working in a corner grocery, Yoder’s, while in secondary school. She graduated from the Mount Vernon Academy, and worked many years in office retail, as a bank teller, a medical transcriptionist and more recently, her favorite, as a homemaker. She and Charles moved to Florida more than 25 years ago, and Bradenton became her home. She loved the Florida warmth, the sunny days, and soft sea breezes. We are grateful to Charles for his companionship to Mom.
She is survived by her two sons and son-in-law, Kerry Lee Fish of Fulton, and Douglas Grant Fish and Chester Nicholas Caster, of Albany, N.Y., adult stepdaughter, Beverly Baldwin of Mount Vernon/Bradenton, and deceased stepson, Bobby Satterfield and his remaining wife, Carol, of Mount Vernon, and their respective families. She has two sisters, Judy Lee Poland (Mrs. Thomas Lee Poland) of Mount Vernon and Marlene June Benge (Mrs. Robert Earl Benge), of Ooltewah, Tenn.; and three nieces, one nephew, four grand-nieces, two grand-nephews and one great-grand-niece. Her canine companion, Cookie, also survives.
The family is grateful to the staff and residents of Westminster Towers and Shores of Bradenton, Dr. Eva Laukhuf and staff, and the nursing staff of 3 South at Blake Hospital. She has requested cremation, and any donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. A memorial service in Mount Vernon will be announced for a later date, and her remains will be placed in the Ebenezer Cemetery.Copyright The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
