MOUNT VERNON — Roderick J. Davis, 74, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday morning, March 2, 2013 at Country Court Nursing Home.

He was born in Fillmore, N.Y., to the late Charles and Florence (Sanford) Davis.

Roderick worked at Rolls Royce as a Drafting Engineer.

He was a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church and participated in the Interchurch Social Services. Roderick also was involved with Hot Meals which helped feed the needy here in the community. He was always there for friends and family if needed. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir. In his younger days, Roderick enjoyed family camping trips in the outdoors. He also liked to watch his Ohio State Buckeyes on television, as well as other sporting events.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Davis; two sons, John Steven (Sylvia) Davis and Jason Lee Davis; a twin brother, Richard Davis; and a sister, Virginia (Frank) Wilmot.

Roderick is preceded in death by his parents.
