MOUNT VERNON — Paul Thomas, 88, of Mount Vernon went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, March 3, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1924, in Newton, W.Va., son of the late Lewis and Velva (Cutright) Thomas.

Paul had worked for Cooper Energy Services and the Mansfield Reformatory. He was a former member of the Mount Zion Lodge 9 of F. and A.M. in Mount Vernon. Paul was an Army veteran, serving in the Pacific from 1953 to 1955.

Paul is survived by sons, Noah (Drema) Thomas and Joseph (Kathryn) Thomas of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents; Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Scott; sister, Lillie Thomas; and brothers, Joseph and Noah Thomas.

In following with Paul’s wish, there will not be public services.
