FREDERICKTOWN — Samuel E. Ewing, 70, of Fredericktown, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio. Sam was retired from Chattanooga Glass and TRW. He loved to play cards with family and friends, but his greatest joy was being outdoors while hunting or fishing. Sam was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was very proud of his service to his country.

He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Stanley, Kathy Miller; a son, Mike (Tandi) Ewing; four grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Rhys Stanley, Alix Ewing; and his canine companion, Jake.

Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gale Ewing.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericktown Volunteer Fire Department.
