CENTERBURG — Iona Pearl “Onie” Alkire, 72, of Centerburg, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home.

She was a retired nurse’s aide; member of AMVETS Post 59 in Centerburg.

Preceded in death by husband, Donald Alkire Sr.; sons, John L. Parker and Randy E. Wells; daughter, Kimberly Wells.

Survived by daughter, Deborah Wells of South Dakota; sons, Jeffery Earl (Tammy) Parker and Jim (Tina) Parker, both of Centerburg; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; special girl, Penny Sue Thurston; and companion, Buster; sister, Ruth Ellen Hubbell; stepbrothers, John and Doyle; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Interment in Eastview Cemetery.
