MOUNT VERNON — Charles A. “Chuck” Watters, 67, of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born April 29, 1945, in Mount Vernon to Allen L. and Helen (Myers) Watters.

Chuck was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving his country for over 20 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, LaVonne Watters; a son, Kevin Watters of Ariz.; stepsons, Scott (Marianne) Ferns of Ill., and Craig (Lisa) Ferns of Minn.; a half-sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Imel of Mount Vernon; and seven grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gordon and Raymond Watters; and his first wife, Marie.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Friday, at 11 a.m.

Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
