MOUNT VERNON — Donald Gene Coe, 75, of Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 11:35 a.m., at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Mount Vernon to the late James C. and Jocelyn (Emsweller ) Coe, Sr.

Don was a beloved Uncle, friend, and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1964 and was a founding and active member of AMVETS Post 95 in Mount Vernon.

Don is survived by his brothers, Charles E. of Texas, John W. of Fla., Franklin J. of Fla., and W. Lee of Columbus.

A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, at 10 a.m. in the Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will provide full military honors for Donald at the cemetery.

The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 North Main Street in Mount Vernon is assisting the Coe family with the funeral arrangements.
