MOUNT VERNON — John C. Hauger, 83, of Mount Vernon, went to heaven March 24, 2013, with his family by his side.

He retired from PPG in Mount Vernon and was a veteran serving in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

He will be missed by his three children, Brenda (Tim) Poole of Fredericktown, Mark (Lisa) Hauger of Kenya, Africa, and Tim Hauger of Mansfield. Also missing him are his eight grandchildren, Brittany (Cody) Johnson, Heather, Caleb, Cierra and Makylee Poole, Karsten, Tavin and Taleah Hauger.

Gone before him are his beloved parents, Burgess and Ada; and sisters, Mary Ann Gallagher, Elizabeth Tharp, and Louise Hockenberry.

Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Russ Gumm of the First Church of the Nazarene, where John was a devoted member. Burial, with military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, in Amity Cemetery.
