MOUNT VERNON — Menno C. Talbott Sr., 82, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Menno was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Fredericktown to, Mason and Dora M. (Steffan) Talbott and had attended Fredericktown High School. He spent most of his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area, and had been employed by Snow’s Plumbing in Mount Vernon for several years.

Surviving are his loving wife, Betty (Freeman) Talbott, to whom he had been married 64 years; his children, Sharon Davis of Fredericktown; Jeanne (Larry) Bowden of Fredericktown; Menno C. (Connie) Talbott Jr. of Mount Vernon; and Cindy (Doc) Dean of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Bonnie Newton of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents, Menno was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Poland; brothers, Jesse Talbott and Dean Talbott; and sisters, Myrtle Brenneman, Ruby Latham, Helen Hall, Naomi Payne and Ruth Peters.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe private burial at Ebenezer Cemetery near Mount Vernon.
