MOUNT VERNON — Treva I. Haltermon, 99, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at the home of her covenant daughters near Sunbury.

Treva was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Portland, Ind., to Elmer and Carrie (Bone) Nelson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and had worked many years as a secretary to the late Dr. John L. Baube.

She is survived by a son, Ronald L. (Carmen) Haltermon of Dothan, Ala.; three covenant daughters, Mary (Allen) Gaines, Rosalie (Allen) Richendollar of Sunbury and Linda (Allen) Burcham of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Richard Haltermon, John Haltermon, David Haltermon, Margaret Hines and Susan Louis; three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John L. Haltermon, who passed away in 2003; and two brothers, Gerald Nelson and Vernon Nelson.

Friends may call one hour prior to her funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Jonathan Fettig officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
