MOUNT VERNON — Ruth E. Curran, 86, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday April 21, 2013, at her residence. Ruth was born October 16, 1926, in Sparta to William H. and Edna Jane (Shuff) Taylor. She had been an employee of Kroger and had been a real estate sales agent. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jenifer Curran of Mount Vernon and Jeff (LuAnn) Curran of Seminole, Fla.; two grandsons Andy (Nicole) Curran, Keven (Ashley Wasiluk) Curran; four great-grandchildren, Kaden, Madison, Makenzie and Kenely Curran; and two sisters, Patricia (Dale) Butler and Marilyn (William) Maynard. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Curran; and her sister, Joy Grubb.

There will be no calling hours, graveside services will be held Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at Mount Liberty Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Wildermuth officiating. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home was chosen to provide funeral arrangements.
