MOUNT VERNON — Howard D. Wolf, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully at his home April 21, 2013.

He was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Toledo, to the late Howard J. and Alice (Perdue) Wolf.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Pat Wolf. Both originally from Toledo. Howard graduated from Macomber High School and went on to receive his Associated Engineering Degree from the University of Toledo. Howard and Pat raised their family in Bellefontaine, where Howard worked as a manufacturing engineer at Westinghouse. In 1982, they moved to Mount Vernon, where he worked at Kelsey-Hayes until his retirement.

Howard and Pat enjoyed their euchre club for years. They also loved traveling and camping, and those travels took them to all 50 states, much of Canada, one great trip to Europe and several cruises. During earlier days, they were active in western square and round dancing.

Howard was a member of South Vernon United Methodist Church and The Colonial City Moose Lodge. He was a classic car enthusiast and a mechanical expert. He will be remembered for his famously delicious peanut brittle and brownies.

Howard is survived by his wife Pat; three children, Laurie Stickley, Tami (Brad) Moore and Steve (Kathy) Wolf; three grandchildren, Brad, Austin and Katelyn Stickley; granddaughter-in-law, Jacquie Bray; stepgrandchildren, Portia Moore and Kera (Matt) Little; five great-grandchildren, Kale and Kasen Oswalt, Roché Bray, Christopher Parsley and Tyler Keating; sister, Nancy (John) Cousins; a cousin, Doris (Tom) Holewinski; and numerous family and close friends.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Wolf; grandson, Jacob Bray; and a son-in-law, Steve Stickley.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at South Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Alexander officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the services for the Wolf family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Howard’s memory to Hospice of Knox County, 17700 Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon; South Vernon UMC, 142 Columbus Road, Mount Vernon; or The Alzheimer’s Association, 780 Park Ave. W, Mansfield, OH 44906.
