HOWARD — Triesa May Dennis, 77, of Howard, passed away April 22, 2013, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
She was born July 12, 1935, in Coshocton County, to the late Theodore O. and Mary M. (Johns) Frazee. Triesa was a 1953 graduate of Bladensburg High School and retired from Kenyon College as the secretary for the biology department and was the former secretary for the Air Force ROTC at Kenyon College. She was an avid quilter and one of the co-founders of the Knox County Agricultural Society Loom Room at the fairgrounds. Triesa served as a 4-H advisor for the Pins and Needles 4-H Club in Gambier. Triesa was also known for her talent as a cake decorator.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Dennis; three children, Jacqueline (Richard) Allinder of Columbus, Janice Shaffer of Mount Liberty and Jeffery (Marina) Dennis of Virginia; a brother, Robert C. (Kay) Frazee of Alabama; sister, Kay ( John) Frazee of Walhonding; four grandchildren, Mitch (Melissa) Payne, Alex Dennis, Ryan (Jody) Allinder and Amanda (Jason) Jones; five great-grandchildren; an aunt, Martha Hagaman of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Triesa was preceded in death by six brothers, Howard, Parker, Chaney, Paul, David and Dean Frazee; and a grandson, Ryan Payne.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating . Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
