MOUNT VERNON — Armand R. Boucher Sr., 86, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, at his home surrounded by his caring family. He was born on April 7, 1927, in New Kensington, Pa., son, of the late Leon Armand and Florence (Franz) Boucher.

Armand was a retired glass cutter for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Mount Vernon having given 34 years of faithful service. He also retired from the Mount Vernon City Schools, where he worked as a custodian. He was a faithful member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and the Knights of Columbus Council 847. Armand was an avid fan of Duke basketball and he enjoyed camping and gardening. Armand’s greatest passion in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Armand will be greatly missed by his children, Linda (Claude) Robertson of Mount Vernon, Emily (Jerry) Peck of Mount Vernon, Stephanie (Thomas) White of Fort Myers, Fla., Veronica Fletcher of Columbus, Armand (Nancy) Boucher Jr. of Howard and Troy (Leslie) Boucher of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren, Erick, Darcy, Jay, Joshua, Roger, Geoff, Marissa, Matthew and Taylor; 12 great-grandchildren, Clinton, Brett, Jeremy, Kayla, Matthew, Justin, Ashley, Kiley, Brayden, Hunter, Brinlynn and Mason; two great-great-grandchildren, Averie and Burkley; a brother, David (Polly) Boucher of Mount Vernon and a sister, Karen (Nelson) Brown of Mansfield.

In addition to his parents, Armand was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary M. (Angelo) Boucher; granddaughter, Amy O’Byrne Bricker; and sister, Joretta Ballard.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon. The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with The Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
