FENNVILLE, Mich. — Charles Lee Veatch, 85, of Fennville, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Hospice House in Holland, Mich. Born No. 7, 1921, in Howard, he was the son of Walter and Mae (Fisher) Veatch. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, and a truck driver most of his life.

Surviving are his son, William Veatch of Waterford, Mich.; granddaughter, Amy Prescott of Walled Lake, Mich.; longtime companion, Joan Billiings of Fennville; and sister, Charlene Woods of Flushing, Mich. He was preceded in death by a son, Charley Veatch.

At his request cremation has taken place, and his cremains were buried May 3, 2013, at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Mich.
