COLUMBUS — J. Alfred Cochran, 101, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Worthington Christian Village.
He was born April 25, 1912, in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, son of the late John and Mary Finney Cochran.
In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and John Cochran.
He was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene, most recently the Fredericktown Church of the Nazarene. Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Jewel Thomas Cochran; sons, Thomas A. (Judy) Cochran and William R. (Donna) Cochran; daughter, Thelma J. Bowman; grandchildren, Eric Cochran, William Cochran Jr., Brian (Julie) Cochran and Douglas (Cam) Bowman; great-grandchildren, James, Paul and Drew Cochran, and Emma and Addison Bowman.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to services. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
