MOUNT VERNON — Betty Lou Morton, 74, of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Mount Vernon, to Earl and Mary (Fisher) Thompson. Betty was a member of Way of God Apostolic Church.

She is survived by her six children, Jeff (Judy) Jackson, Anita Jackson, Mary (Greg) King, Adavida Hunter, Laura (Ira) Young and Anthony (Sara) Morton; a brother, Arthur T. Thompson; sister, Connie Bell; five grandchildren, Natasha Wilson, Jeffreyca Jackson, Nadia Obkogo, Malcolm Hunter and Stanley James Young; five stepchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Floyd Jackson; second husband, David T. Morton; and her third husband, Lloyd Morton.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
