MOUNT VERNON — Kathleen A. Stringer, 55, of North Sandusky St., Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 23, 1957, in Somerville, N. J. Kathleen was an animal activist and was currently researching her family history.

She is survived by her mother, Eleanor (Hartman) and Roy McSherry of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Thomas Longino of San Francisco, Calif., and Bill (Amber) Stringer of Mount Vernon; four daughters, Leanora (Kenny) Stringer of Aurora, Colo., Jolene (J.R. Garrison) Stringer of Mount Vernon, Crystal (Bradly) Talbott of Mount Vernon and Danielle (Justin) Smith of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Molli (Rev. Thomas Gilbert) Harris of Maryville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Kanarr; and a sister, Tammy Kanarr.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m., in Mound View Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is handling the arrangements for the Stringer family.
