GAMBIER — William H. Frye, 90, of Pipesville Road, Gambier, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Richwood, W.Va., to the late Clarence and Mary Lou (Hammons) Frye. William retired from Continental Can Co. in 1987, with 34 years of service. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII.

He is survived by his wife of over 67 years, Eveline (Burrows) Frye; four sons, Roger Frye of Howard, James Frye of Mount Vernon, Carl (Susan) Frye of Newark, Daniel (Kimberly) Frye of Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Damon Springer; two brothers, Edward Frye, Don Frye; and his sister, Elma Dye.

A graveside service, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be held Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
