MOUNT VERNON — Diana Lynn Scott, 52, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, while surrounded by her loving family at The Ohio State Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 1, 1961, in Mount Vernon, to Maxine W. (Pierce) Scott and the late Lewis L Scott. A 1979 graduate of Highland High School, Diana most recently worked as a Shock Assembler at Showa. As a wonderful, fun-loving woman, she could be stubborn, yet supportive of her friends and family. Diana had the gift-of-gab and never knew a stranger.
Known for her vast collection of DVD movies, Diana often enjoyed time watching comedies as well as her beloved OSU Buckeyes. She truly loved being an aunt and was ever present at her nieces and nephews sporting events. She was also the family genealogist and enjoyed yard work and the outdoors.
She is survived by her mother, Maxine (Pierce) Scott of Marengo; companion, Lorry Ann Phillip of Mount Vernon; brother, Terry Scott of Mount Vernon; sisters, Deborah Gallogly of Marengo, Sharon (Dan) Dean of Branson, Mo., Diana Duncan of Washington Courthouse, Sharon (Leon) Holtrey of Marengo; eight nieces and nephews; 13 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her father, Lewis L. Scott.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
